Welcome to the Melva Smith School of Dance.   

 

It is our sincere desire to instruct your child in the art of dance, to the very best of our ability. We strive to instill discipline, decorum, dependability, dreams, and delight for the world of dance.

 

We work to enhance each student, helping them develop

self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-control.

 

We believe the way to teach is by imparting one’s knowledge in a sound, consistent, and loving manner. We believe that any teacher must have enthusiasm for their subject and their students.

 

When parents entrust their children to us we regard it as a vote of confidence, which we highly cherish.

 

Teaching dance is more than a job for the MSSoD faculty, it's  a passion and combined with their experience and training -- that creates a nurturing yet challenging atmosphere.

 

Our philosophy is that we are not only teaching dance but also life skills such as perseverance, dedication, focus, time management, manners, good sportsmanship and so much more.
