Hello Dancer!
Welcome to the
Melva Smith School of Dance;
we'd love to have you join us!

MSSoD has been training Coppell area dancers since 1986. We pride ourselves on being known for our high standards in quality dance training in a nurturing, positive and disciplined atmosphere while instilling life lessons through the art of dance.
We offer classes in a wide variety of disciplines for ages 3 to adult.
From students wanting one or two classes a week to the competitive dancer, we've got a place for everyone and can't wait for you be a part of our family!
Our teachers instruct and inspire, engage and encourage.
At MSSoD our dancers learn more than great dance technique, they learn to be ladies and gentlemen, they learn kindness and compassion and they learn to be leaders.
We work hard to make class the highlight of your sweet dancer's week!

Our preschool program is the oldest in Coppell and there's a reason we've been here for over 35 years! We know moms and dads want it to be fun, making new friends all while learning manners, grace and skills on their way to a love for the art of dance!

Saturday, August 15: STEP applications due. Don't miss the chance to be part of our Student Teacher Education Program!

Thursday, August 27 from 6:30 - 7:30pm: Studio Open House and Recital Reveal! Come for the treats, tuition raffle, and an exciting sneak peek at our spring recital theme.

Tuesday, September 8: Classes begin! We can't wait to welcome everyone back for a new dance season!

October 8 - 12: MSSoD Classes will be in session while CISD has a student holiday

October 19 - 24: Halloweek & Bring a Friend Week! Dancers can come to all classes in costume and bring a friend to join our silly and spooky fun Halloween-themed classes all week long!

November 16 - 21: Observation Week - Parents are invited to sit in on classes and see what their dancers have been learning and how they've grown as dancers!

November 23 - 28: Thanksgiving Break – No classes this week. Enjoy the holiday with your loved ones!

Saturday, December 12: Studio Holiday Party! All dancers are invited from 2:00 to 4:00 PM after Saturday classes. We'll have treats, games, and a lively game of pass the present!

December 14 - January 3: Winter Break - Enjoy the holiday! We intentionally begin our Christmas Break before CISD so our dance families and teachers have time to enjoy school performances, holiday events, and Christmas preparations. For our older dancers, it also provides extra time to prepare for midterms and finals during a busy time of year.
