Dance classes are only part of the fun at Melva Smith School of Dance!
Throughout the season, we enjoy special events that give our dancers opportunities to celebrate, share their love of dance with friends and family, and create wonderful studio memories with our studio family!!

Open House and Recital Reveal: Thursday, August 27th 6:30 - 7:30pm

Come by and say hello!Join us for treats, tuition raffle, giveaways and the exciting reveal of our spring recital theme!

Halloweek and Bring a Friend Week: October 19 - 24

One of our very favorite weeks all season! Costume fun, not so spooky Halloween dances and new friends joining us in the fun!

Dancers can come to all classes in costume to join our silly and spooky fun Halloween-themed classes all week long!

Friends are welcome to join us also in costume, and do need to fill out THIS FORM to let us know to expect them!

Recital Lead and Supporting Character Auditions: November 14 from 2 - 4pm

Dancers ages 10 and older from all classes are encouraged to audition!
-
Those selected for a lead or supporting role will be required to attend additional classes and rehearsals during the spring semester to learn choreography and prepare for the recital.

Please consider this added time commitment before auditioning

Observation Week: November 16 - 21

Parents and family are invited to sit in on all classes and see what their dancers have been learning and how they've grown as dancers!

Studio Holiday Party: Saturday, December 12
-
All dancers are invited from 2:00 to 4:00 PM after Saturday classes.

We'll have treats such a pizza, cookies and more, play games for prizes , and a play lively game of pass the present!

Dress is holiday festive!
-
Dancers should bring a small gift for someone their age and we will sit in a circle and play pass the present!
